Pottery wheel throwing taster sessions! 7th & 8th September 13th October 3rd, 10th, 17th, 23rd, 24th and 30th November 1st December Please book each person separately. These are "taster" sessions for those who have been wanting to know what it's like to throw a pot on the wheel. It is for complete beginners or those who may have done it a long time ago and want to have another go. These classes are for adults and older children over 10 years old. (Children must be accompanied by one adult, and be able to follow instructions well). You will learn to prepare the clay for making, centre the clay and throw a basic cylinder or bowl shape on the wheel. You will have a 1;2 ratio of tuition from me. The price includes your choice of your best two pots. I will finish the underside of your pots when "leather hard", Bisque firing, then glazing in a colour choice and second firing. Pick up from the museum in 3 weeks time. Attending your session: Please park in the museum car park. Entry is via the shop entrance, please give your name to the reception, where they hold a list of attendees for the day, and they will let you through. You do not need to pay to get into the museum if you are on one of my courses. It is a good 10 minute walk to the pottery from the car park. Please make sure this is manageable for you, and you arrive promptly for your start time. The pottery is open to the public, and I may at times have to serve customers. However the mornings are usually quiet. Please bring an old apron or wear old clothes as throwing is a mucky business! Please note I cannot give refunds if you are unable to make it.
