Service Description

Beginners Hand Building Workshop Suitable for Beginners who have never done pottery or not done it for a long time, and would like to re fresh their skills. We will be learning to coil and slab build different shaped pots. Explore different textured finishes and we will learn about the tools to help us achieve this. You will be supported by an experienced tutor who will guide you through each step by demonstration and support as you make your own pots. All day workshop Saturday March 15th 2025 10.30am to 4pm Price includes all tuition, materials, & glaze if required plus firing of two pieces of work. Collection from the pottery in 3 weeks time. Tea/Coffee & Biscuits are provided. Please bring your own packed lunch, or you can purchase lunch at the Limeburners cafe in the museum. Important Information * All courses are held at WoodSmoke Pottery in Amberley Museum by resident potter Nancy Scantlebury-Thompson. * Bookings are NON-Refundable! Please make sure you are ok with this before booking. * Parking is free at Amberley Train Station car park in the " museum visitors" section. * Entrance to the pottery is via the main entrance to the museum. Please give your name to the reception where they will have a list of attendees to that day's course. You do not need to pay to get into the museum if you are attending one of my courses. * Please note it is a good 10 to 15 minute walk to the pottery from the car park. Please make sure this is manageable for you. * Groups are kept small to allow for individual space and one to one teaching. The classes are relaxed. * classes are aimed at adults and older children. These classes are not suitable for younger children. If you are under 16 years old, you must have a paying parent/guardian with you. * The pottery is open to the public and also sells work, I may have to attend to visitors at times in the shop, and they may engage with interest, conversation with you about your project, so please make sure you are ok with this. * Bring an Apron as clay is messy! * The pottery can get cold, so wear layers! * If you require an alternative non dairy milk/snack please let me know beforehand.
